Whenever Evan Rachel Wood steps out on the red carpet she never ceases to amaze us with her unpredictable style. Her Golden Globes 2017 red carpet look is no exception. This year instead of wearing a gown the Westworld star decided to make a statement and wear something out of the ordinary.
Wood who is up for her third Golden Globe nomination donned a custom Altuzarra black and white tuxedo, for two important reasons: To honor the legend David Bowie’s birthday (who also happens to be her style icon), and to tell young girls and women everywhere that wearing glitzy dresses is “not a requirement.” This power move encourages women not to fall into a status quo, and to wear what they feel most comfortable in.

As for her beauty look, Wood kept it minimal and wore gray hair in a simple waved side-part. For makeup, Wood stuck with a deep pink lip paired with a light flush on the cheek bones, and added a bit of gray eyeshadow on the lids.
Whether or not Wood takes home her first Golden Globe tonight (fingers crossed!), she’s already a winner in our book with this inspiring message.
