From soft curls to blonde tips and braided updos, the hairstyles on the Golden Globes 2017 red carpet were ones to remember. We couldn’t decide on a favorite until Sarah Jessica Parker hit the scene in a braided ‘do that practically shut down every other hairstyle.
If you look closely you’ll notice she has a sparkled accessory on her middle part, which is the coolest way to upgrade any red carpet hairstyle if we’re being honest. But, what really makes her look special can be found behind the center part. The actress honored the late Carrie Fisher in a Princess Leia-esque braided crown, but according to People, it was by accident.

“I didn’t mean for that, perhaps it was in my subconscious,” Parker told NBC’s Natalie Morales regarding her braided style. “There’s actually a photograph of my mother wearing her hair like this. And though we didn’t think we were gonna do this, this ended up being what we did, so perhaps it’s a tiny little nod at a very grand person.”
The 51-year-old actress posted a photo on Instagram of her faux braid and other tools used to get the look at the Golden Globes 2017, including the cult-favorite, Serge Normant’s Meta Luxe hairspray.
But SJP wasn’t the only celeb using accessories to enhance her look. Singer Janelle Monáe wore pearls throughout her updo to jazz up her style, too.
Adding accessories is SO on trend, and great for any age. And even if you’re not attending a star-studded event, accessories are perfect for a dash of commitment-free sparkle.
