We are only 17 days into 2017, but Urban Decay already has some exciting products. First came the new primers and setting sprays. Then, the Urban Decay Nocturnal collection dropped exclusively at Ulta this weekend. And let’s not forget, 30 shades of their first-ever liquid lipsticks will be out on Thursday.
But let’s back up to that part about a line being exclusive to one of our favorite stores. Urban Decay just launched four fresh, new shades of their popular Vice lipstick, which were completely reformulated in in the middle of last year, and a brand-new palette. The five items, in total, will only be available at Ulta. So if you have an Ulta gift card that’s been burning a hole in your pocket since the holidays, now is your chance to put it to good use. Before you start adding items to your cart, here’s everything you need to know about the Urban Decay Nocturnal collection. Hopefully this extra info will make your choices a bit easier.
This limited-edition palette comes with 12 eye shadows that may seem familiar. That’s because they are actually longtime faves. Each hue is either currently available as singles and/or has made a previous appearance in other palettes. Backfire (a burgundy with purple shimmer) and Lounge (a green duochrome that is actually brick red), in particular, were most recently included in the new Afterdark Palette. (And for the record, Lounge is my all-time favorite eye shadow.) While Armour (a graphite gray) can also be found in the Naked Smoky Palette and the original Vice Palette. Plus, the palette comes with a double-ended brush for creating nighttime looks on the go.
Urban Decay Nocturnal Vice Lipstick in Lawbreaker ($17)
First of all, the Nocturnal Vice Lipsticks are housed in different tubes than the original Vice lipsticks. Instead of silver and gold, the new ones have a metallic lavender base and a cap printed with a concrete brick motif. Second of all, this neutral ’90s-inspired brown is e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. And it has a sheer finish, so you can throw it in your purse for everyday wear if you’re not ready to go full teen Drew Barrymore.
Urban Decay Nocturnal Vice Lipstick in Nonsense ($17)
For something more matte, there’s this dark rose shade. Like the other Vice lipsticks that come in the Comfort Matte finish, the formula includes nourishing conditioners like avocado oil and aloe vera, so your lips won’t feel dry for a second, but your non-shiny pigment will last way longer than that.
Urban Decay Nocturnal Vice Lipstick in Fireball ($17)
Urban Decay took a fan-favorite eye shadow of the same name and turned it into a metallic peach lipstick with a pink shift. Pair this with some peach eye shadow, and you’ll be so on trend.
Urban Decay Nocturnal Vice Lipstick in Backstab ($17)
As for the darkest of the bunch, this plum isn’t your ordinary moody lipstick. Thanks to a red shimmer and a creamy finish, it won’t look too flat on your lips.
