It’s true: Highlighters are synonymous with red carpet season. They instantly make your cheekbones pop and give your face a glow that lasts all night. So when Jennifer Lopez hit the People’s Choice Awards red carpet in all her perfect-bone-structure-glory we weren’t surprised to see her wearing a hint of highlighter. Who wouldn’t want a touch of glow at an important event? We were however shocked to learn it costs $110.
The find comes courtesy of her go-to makeup artist, Mary Phillips, who created J.Lo’s look for the big night. Phillips wrote on Instagram that she applied the Armani Prima Glow Moisturizing Balm with a blush brush, then patted any remaining balm into J.Lo’s skin with her fingers. According to the site, the Prima Glow Moisturizing Balm leaves your skin re-plumped and retextured, giving you a special shine that last 24 hours. All day coverage is great, but for $110 shouldn’t it last at least a week? To put things in perspective, Jennifer Lopez’s People’s Choice Awards glow cost more than a tank of gas, movie tickets for two and even a mani/pedi in most places. Is she serious? Okay, I digress.
Thankfully, the other products Phillips used weren’t as pricey so we can create her exact look IRL. And, because Lopez is a spokesperson for the L’Oréal brand most of them can be found in your local drugstore, including L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation, L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Contour Kit and L’Oréal True Match Blushes in Tender Rose and Innocent Flush.
