On Tuesday morning, the Academy broke its long-standing tradition of hosting a press conference to announce Oscar nominations. Instead, they opted for pre-taped package announcements starring former Academy Awards winners and nominees—like Jennifer Hudson, Brie Larson, Guillermo del Toro, and Marcia Gay Harden, among others—to honor this year’s class.

Some actors nominated this year include: Emma Stone, Natalie Portman, Denzel Washington, and Ryan Gosling. And after clinching a historic seven Golden Globes, La La Land danced its way to 14 Orcas nominations—tying with Titanic and All About Eve for the most Academy Award nods for a film. (Here’s to the dreamers!) And while La La Land unsurprisingly led the pack, films like Fences, Manchester by the Sea, Moonlight, and Lion earned several nods.

The 2016 Oscars were marred with controversy over its blatant lack of diversity, sparking the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite. In a pleasant shift of tone, this year’s Academy has highlighted a more diverse group, including Viola Davis and Dev Patel.

The 2017 Oscars will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, and they’ll air on February 26, 2017 on ABC.
