As if Halle Berry’s incredible natural curls and beaded Atelier Versace dress at the 2017 Oscars weren’t enough sultry glamour for one night, the actress filmed herself skinny-dipping after-hours and posted the video to Instagram for fans to enjoy.
The slow-motion video—set to Bruno Mars’ “Versace on the Floor” (naturally)—features Berry skipping down some steps, dropping her custom-made dress to her ankles, and elegantly diving into the pool. All that combined with the lush flora that surrounded the pool, the eerily beautiful natural light peeking through the trees, and a highly skilled videographer (her assistant perhaps?) and it was basically a full-on Versace ad. Not even a low-fi one either.
As a woman who loves a sexy cutout, a bold color, and beaded detail in a red carpet gown, Berry has been wearing Versace for years. In an interview with Vogue, published on Monday, the actress’s stylist, Lindsay Flores, commented on the bond, saying, “Halle has a personal relationship with Donatella and has worn both Donatella and Gianni [designs] over the years. The Versace aesthetic is all about strong and powerful women, which is so intrinsically Halle.”
While Berry didn’t wear Versace for her Best Actress win in 2002, she did wear the Italian brand for the 2005 and 2013 Oscars. She has also starred in numerous Versace campaigns—the real, big-budget, bright-lights kind. That said, we sort of prefer her DIY slow-jam version.
First, the Oscars. Now, this. Looks like Berry had one incredibly glamorous night.
