Just when we thought an eye-shadow palette couldn’t get more basic than the upcoming M.A.C. Basic Bitch one, there’s one that tops it on the way. The M.A.C. In the Flesh palette was just teased on Instagram, and it’s filled with all the neutral shadows one could ever want—15 to be exact. M.A.C. trainers and makeup artists around the country are have been posting photos and swatches all this week, starting with the Pro store in Dallas, Texas. That angel (or, social media manager) showed off the shades, which include everything you could need for a laid-back daytime look, edgy nighttime vibe, and anything in between. If you’re a fan of the classic smoky eye, this palette is definitely for you.
It looks different from the Basic Bitch palette in that it has more classic “nude” shades of light tan and pink, and less browns and burgundy hues. That’s not to say it will only look great on people with light skin tones. It seems like a true basic palette, as opposed to the Basic Bitch, which seems like level two colors for people who are creative with eye-shadow.
We haven’t tried the neutral shades ourselves yet, but luckily a few makeup artists have swatched them.
